Ontario Motor Coach Association / Motor Coach Canada, American BusAssociation Partners with Travel Unity to Pilot a Workforce Development Program

April 1st, 2025

Ontario Motor Coach Association (OMCA), Motor Coach Canada (MCC) and The American Bus Association (ABA) are pleased to announce a partnership with Travel Unity to pilot a workforce development initiative. This collaboration will provide members with access to Travel Unity’s Individual Certificate program, equipping them with the skills to engage with a broader and more diverse audience.

We couldn’t think of a better time than the onset of National Diversity Month to announce this exciting partnership. “Partnering with Travel Unity allows us to add to our educational opportunities and enhance our members’ ability to serve a diverse traveler base,” said Vince Accardi, President of OMCA and MCC.

“By investing in workforce development and inclusivity, we help drive business growth and create a more welcoming and dynamic travel experience for all.” Fred Ferguson, President & CEO of the American Bus Association, echoed the sentiment, stating, “This partnership reinforces our commitment to supporting the motorcoach and travel industries by ensuring our members have the resources and knowledge to foster inclusivity and broaden their reach. By investing in workforce development, we are helping our industry attract, recruit, and retain top talent, ensuring a strong future for motorcoach travel. Additionally, by supporting and selling to all communities, we can expand our market and bring more consumers into the fold, strengthening the entire industry.”

The Travel Unity Individual Certificate (TUIC) introduces participants to the broad impact of the travel industry and the ways in which fostering inclusive practices can create a more welcoming experience for all. The program is designed for individuals seeking foundational knowledge of engagement and accessibility in travel and tourism. TUIC-certified professionals gain valuable insights and practical strategies to better address the needs of a wide range of visitors and
colleagues, with the curriculum aligned to Travel Unity’s industry standards. Roni Weiss, Executive Director of Travel Unity, added, “We are excited to collaborate with ABA, OMCA, and MCC in bringing this certification to their members. Our goal is to provide practical tools and knowledge that enable travel professionals to make meaningful connections with diverse audiences, ultimately enriching the travel experience for everyone.” Travel Unity will oversee content delivery and credentialing.

Participation is limited, and details on enrollment will be released shortly. This pilot project will allow the associations to evaluate the program’s effectiveness and inform potential future expansions.
