Intercity Bus Operators to Discourage Non-Essential Travel

Ontario’s Ministry of Transportation is asking Intercity Bus Operators to do their part to support the new Stay-At-Home Orders by discouraging passengers from traveling on their buses for non-essential reasons.

“MTO is asking intercommunity bus carriers to remind passengers to limit travel for essential purposes only. This could include promotion of the stay at home message on communications channels such as social media and websites; signage; call center messaging; email alerts; and in-station and on-board bus and rail announcements. For passengers travelling for essential purposes, we ask that the intercommunity bussing industry continue to promote COVID-19 safety protocols, including mask wearing, physical distancing and handwashing.”
