The Professional Instructor in Driver Education (P.R.I.D.E.) RECERTIFICATION Program is a joint venture of the Ontario Motor Coach Association (OMCA), Ontario Public Transit Association (OPTA) and Ontario School Bus Association (OSBA).
For 30 years, the P.R.I.D.E. Program has provided fleet driver instructors with powerful, non-lecture adult training techniques and philosophies that resonate with new and seasoned drivers to encourage and sustain safe commercial driving habits.
Unfortunately, it was necessary to cancel the 2020 P.R.I.D.E. Programs from March to September due to COVID-19 and were able to re-start the program in October. Extensive COVID-19 protocol has been implemented including moving the program to a larger facility (Holiday Inn Burlington) to ensure physical distancing of 2 meters can be maintained.
The Province of Ontario revised the thresholds in their COVID-19 Framework and moved the Region of Halton into the Red Control level with additional restrictions to help control the spread of COVID-19. Of particular note for the P.R.I.D.E. Program is the new restriction for meeting and event spaces that limits the number of people indoors to 10 and booking multiple rooms in the same location for the same event is not permitted.
We hope that these additional restrictions are lifted before our 2021 programs begin and are currently investigating whether the P.R.I.D.E. Find the 2021 P.R.I.D.E. dates in the links below.
